INSCOP Survey - Perception on drug trafficking and drug use | 78.8% of Romanians are very dissatisfied with the actions of the authorities in the fight against drug use.

The poll was conducted by INSCOP Research commissioned by the News.ro news agency.
Attitudes towards authorities' actions to fight drug use

19.1% of Romanians say that they are very satisfied or quite satisfied with the authorities' actions to combat drug use, while 78.8% are very dissatisfied or quite dissatisfied. 2% do not know or do not answer. Solutions to fight drug use

38.4% of respondents believe that to combat drug use, the authorities should focus most on tougher penalties for drug traffickers, 34.6% on increased border controls to prevent drugs from entering the country, 9.8% on information campaigns on the risks of drug use, 8.9% on better care for drug users to get rid of addiction, and 5% on more drug testing. 1.7% of respondents think that the authorities should focus on other action and 1.6% do not know or do not answer.

The data were collected using the CATI method (telephone interviews), with a simple stratified sample size of 1100 persons, representative of the significant socio-demographic categories (sex, age, occupation) for the non-institutionalized population of Romania, aged 18 years and over.
