<p>The levels of salinity and chlorides in the rivers Târnava Mica, Târnava Mare and Mureș in Alba county have exceeded the permissible values, reaching up to 1,900 mg/l on the Târnava Mica and 867 mg/l on the Târnava Mare. Farmers are warned to avoid using water for irrigation and watering animals. The drinking water supply to residents is not affected and controlled discharges are being carried out to reduce the concentration of salts.
