The number of special pensioners in Romania has risen to 11,696 beneficiaries in July 2024. Most are former magistrates.

According to CNPP data, the total number of service allowances increased by 1,386. Law 303/2002 on the status of prosecutors and judges recorded the highest average service pension of 25,049 lei. Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, pensioners from the Court of Accounts, as well as those from the Courts of Justice and Prosecutor's Offices also benefited from service pensions.
