ROMATSA announced that in 2025 it paid retirement bonuses of over 46 million lei, with an average of approximately 214,000 euros for each of the 42 retired employees.
The largest retirement bonus was 532,000 euros, setting a record for a state institution. In the last two and a half years, ROMATSA has spent about 20 million euros on retirement bonuses for 96 employees, with an average of 200,000 euros per retiree.
The institution is self-financed from the fees paid by airlines for air navigation services, without being directly funded from the state budget. In the period 2024-2026, ROMATSA granted gross retirement bonuses, from which social contributions and income tax were withheld. The smallest bonus was 53,316 lei, while the largest reached 2.77 million lei.
