Representatives of the Local and County Council of Iași will start consultations on Friday for the Feasibility Study of the Monorail Iași suspended train project, which could become the first system of its kind in Romania. The suspended train, a monorail system, runs on a single rail placed above the ground and is promoted as a green and sustainable solution, with chances of full funding through the European program 2028-2034.

Cătălin Urtoi, founder of the HaiCăSePoate Association, emphasized the importance of supporting the project by local elected officials, in the interest of the community. The discussions will focus on solutions for reducing traffic congestion and evaluating the development of a suspended transport system. The proposed route includes key areas in Iași, such as the Airport and the Central Station. International examples of suspended trains include those in the USA, Europe, and Asia, demonstrating the efficiency of this type of urban transport.
