A hotel in the Saturn resort was checked by inspectors from the County Commissariat for Consumer Protection Constanța, after 58 people, including 11 children, reported feeling unwell on Tuesday evening.
The authorities activated the Red Intervention Plan, and six people, including a pregnant woman and a mother with two children, were transported to the hospital. Horia Constantinescu, the head of CJPC Constanța, announced that the hotel was fined 100,000 lei and the food block was temporarily closed until the identified deficiencies are remedied. Additionally, 523 kilograms of improperly stored food were withdrawn.
The authorities will propose suspending the hotel's activity for six months. The Ministry of Health is monitoring the situation, and the Public Health Directorate has initiated an epidemiological investigation, suspecting a food poisoning incident. Hospitalized consumers will receive refunds for the amounts paid.
