Siegfried Mureșan reacted on Monday evening to the appointment of Luca Niculescu to the position of prime minister, arguing that the recent statements by PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu about his willingness to take on the position now make sense. “Now we know exactly why Sorin Grindeanu boldly said in recent days that he was ready to be prime minister,” Mureșan said, claiming that the PSD leader “knew precisely that no one would test his readiness.” The reaction comes after Grindeanu criticized the nomination of Luca Niculescu, which he said “defies parliamentary mathematics,” and warned that the PSD would not support a new political configuration if it continued austerity policies.
