Gigi Becali has condemned conditions in Romanian prisons, saying they can shave 10-15 years off prisoners' lives. After the death of Ciprian Pian, who suffered a cardiac arrest in prison, Becali emphasized the lack of proper medical care and the need to respect the law. He recounted his difficult experiences in prison, including a near septicemia due to a toothache, and emphasized that such a difficult environment is unbearable for anyone. Pian was 36 and died after experiencing chest pains, and authorities confirmed he was taken to hospital but did not survive.
