The Craiova Court of Appeal sentenced the former head of DIICOT Olt, Claudiu Negrilă, to 6 years in prison for bribery, aiding the offender, and disclosing confidential information.

Between 2021 and 2024, Negrilă handled criminal cases involving businessmen from Slatina, who were his friends, all of which were closed.

The prosecutor accepted bribes in the form of luxury vacations and plane tickets, and his family benefited from luxury cars.

Negrilă was reportedly so close to one of the defendants in the cases that he spent vacations with this person's family, such as with the spouses Dorina and Cristinel Ilie.

The Court's decision is not final and can be appealed. Negrilă has been suspended from office for two years.
