Etem Gestamp, a Bulgarian aluminum extrusion company, has signed a virtual power purchase agreement (Virtual Power Purchase Agreement - VPPA) with Rezolv Energy to reduce its environmental footprint. The agreement, for a period of 10 years, will allow Etem Gestamp to purchase electricity from the VIFOR wind farm in Romania, with a capacity of 461 MW.
This is the first cross-border PPA for wind energy announced in Bulgaria and the 7th signed by Rezolv Energy. Etem Gestamp aims for 70% of its energy mix to come from renewable sources by 2027. This partnership will contribute to the decarbonization of the automotive industry's supply chain. Rezolv Energy, a major renewable energy producer, has a portfolio of 2.3 GW in Romania and Bulgaria, including projects such as Dama Solar and St. George.
