A recent decision allows Environment Guard commissioners to use drones and portable video cameras, facilitating the enforcement of environmental sanctions. The reform aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Guard in the context of Romania's accession to the OECD by equipping it with modern equipment and hiring 150 new commissioners. It will reduce the number of management posts but increase the operational staff, ensuring more effective and transparent environmental control.
