Over 100 supporters of the teams Politehnica Timișoara and PAOK Thessaloniki gathered on Saturday, near Lugoj, to pay tribute to the 7 Greek supporters who died in a traffic accident in January. Two buses with Greek supporters arrived at the site of the tragedy, where they were welcomed by over 50 Romanian supporters.
The accident occurred in January 2026, when a minibus with PAOK supporters entered the oncoming lane and was hit by a truck, resulting in 7 deaths and 3 injuries. The ceremony was also attended by the Metropolitan of Banat, His Eminence Ioan Selejan, who officiated a memorial service and blessed the monument erected in memory of the deceased. The participants raised prayers for the souls of the lost, marking a moment of deep emotion and solidarity.
