The Railway Reform Authority announced that the first Polish regional train produced by Pesa has begun endurance tests on the CFR network, on the Bucharest-Constanta route, and a second train will enter testing on January 28, 2026. These tests are part of a contract worth 2.77 billion lei for the acquisition of 62 electric multiple units. The first train must cover 10,000 km under real operating conditions, while the second must cover 2,000 km. The trains have been checked for the functionality of safety systems before testing. The project is funded through the Modernization Fund, with a significant contribution from the state budget, thus ensuring the modernization of regional and suburban rail transport in Romania.
