In Bulgaria, the company signed an agreement with Vazovski Mashinostroitelni Zavodi for the construction of a 1 billion euro ammunition factory, which will produce 150,000 modular charges and 100,000 155 mm projectiles annually, mostly for export. In Romania, Rheinmetall will build a 535 million euro powder factory, creating 700 jobs and ensuring Romania's independence in defense matters. Both projects will benefit from European funding through the SAFE instrument, which allocates over 20 billion euros for the development of defense capabilities.
