The visit of Rheinmetall's president, Armin Papperger, to Romania led to an extensive partnership, including the acquisition of 298 Lynx armored vehicles, of which 46 are derived from the same chassis. Discussions took place with Romanian officials, including the Minister of Economy and the Minister of Defense, resulting in agreements to ensure a share of production in Romania. Lynx is a modular armored vehicle, adaptable for various combat roles. The project includes obligations for localizing production, and Parliament has approved the assembly of new vehicles. Rheinmetall will also build a munitions powder factory in Victoria, Brașov, with an investment of over 500 million euros, generating hundreds of jobs and strengthening the Romanian defense industry.
