Otokar has signed one of the largest export contracts in its recent history, worth $1.472 billion. The agreement covers the delivery of several types of wheeled armored vehicles and logistics support services, but the Turkish company has not disclosed the identity of the client or the models ordered.

The contract has not yet entered into force. Otokar must obtain official approvals, complete the procedures for the letters of guarantee and receive the advance payment. The guarantees related to the agreement amount to approximately $441.6 million.

The first vehicles are expected to be delivered in 2027, with the entire batch to be handed over in stages over approximately three years. The contract will remain active for seven years, including through the associated logistics services.

The value of the new agreement exceeds Romania's contract for 1,059 COBRA II armored vehicles, signed in November 2024 and valued at approximately €852 million. The Romanian program has entered the local production stage: the first 12 vehicles manufactured in Mediaș were received in July 2026, while more than 780 units are expected to be produced in Romania. However, Otokar has not confirmed that the new contract is linked to the Mediaș factory or the COBRA II program.
