The object discovered at sea in Costinești, confirmed to be a drone by the prefect of Constanța

The prefect of Constanța County, Adrian Picoiu, confirmed on Thursday morning that the object discovered by tourists at sea in Costinești is a drone. 

On Thursday morning, tourists on the beach in Costinești observed an object that appeared to be a drone, floating near the shore, next to a breakwater, and witnesses filmed the object.

The prefect of Constanța County, Adrian Picoiu, announced that the discovered object is indeed a drone.

"Around 8:15 AM, a 112 call was received reporting a possible drone in the Tineretului Costinești area, about 15 meters from the breakwaters. According to procedures, the IPJ, SRI, Coast Guard, ISU, and IJJ intervened, each within their specific competencies. Up to this hour, I can confirm that it is an unmanned flying object, which will be evaluated by the authorized structures," said the prefect of Constanța County.

Authorities have been informed and will carry out checks to clarify the situation.
