In an exclusive interview with Digi24, Dominic Fritz, the president of USR and the mayor of Timișoara, discussed the reform measures aimed at reducing expenses in local administrations. He mentioned that a compromise has been reached in the coalition, allowing for salary reductions without layoffs, but confirmed that in Timișoara, several dozen employees will be laid off to make the administration more efficient.

Fritz explained that starting in 2026, mayors will have the option to either reduce positions or cut personnel expenses, and from 2027, the rules will apply uniformly. He emphasizes the need for a leaner and more efficient administration, stating that reorganization is already underway at the Timișoara City Hall.
