A hallucinogenic mushroom cultivation intended for the drug market was discovered by DIICOT prosecutors and the Border Police in Bucharest. Three individuals, two women aged 34 and 42, and a 68-year-old man, were detained for trafficking high-risk drugs.
The investigation revealed that between March and July 2026, they cultivated, harvested, and stored mushrooms containing psilocin and psilocybin. Information suggests that the 34-year-old woman purchased cultivation kits from the Lower Countries, along with the necessary equipment. Searches led to the discovery of the cultivation, production equipment, and approximately 700 grams of high-risk drugs.
DIICOT prosecutors proposed the preventive arrest of the three defendants, emphasizing the seriousness of the crime.
