Four men from Cluj County were placed under preventive arrest for 30 days in a case involving the trafficking of high-risk and low-risk drugs, following 14 searches conducted by investigators at several locations. During the operation, approximately 60 kilograms of green cannabis plant material, four kilograms of cannabis buds and around 170 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms were discovered.
According to investigators, two of the suspects, aged 41 and 53, allegedly cultivated cannabis outdoors in secluded areas covered by vegetation, located on the outskirts of three towns in Cluj County. The drugs were allegedly later sold to consumers in the county for sums ranging from 350 to 3,000 lei. The 53-year-old man is also suspected of having sold ketamine.
Two other men, aged 26 and 56, are being investigated in the same case. They are accused of procuring, possessing and selling cannabis and crystalline substances classified as high-risk drugs.
During the searches, investigators also seized containers with plant-based substances and liquids, fertilizers, fans used to dry plants, grinders, precision scales, money and other evidence. They also found an airsoft pistol, an air rifle, pellets, metal balls and pyrotechnic articles.
The four men were initially detained for 24 hours, after which the court ordered their preventive arrest for 30 days. Police officers specializing in combating organized crime, forensic investigators, special operations officers and gendarmes from Cluj and Bistrița-Năsăud took part in the operation.
