Two 37-year-old men were remanded in custody for 30 days after officers from the Ploiești Brigade for Combating Organized Crime and DIICOT prosecutors discovered a cannabis crop in a forest near the commune of Crevedia.
According to investigators, the two allegedly purchased cannabis seeds in April 2026 and planted them in the wooded area. In the following months, until September, the suspects allegedly watered and fertilized the plants. On September 18, they were caught in the act while tending the crop.
Following the intervention, the authorities seized 24 cannabis plants at various stages of development, ranging in height from two to four meters. Spraying pumps, containers of biostimulants, and liquid fertilizer were also found.
During three home searches, investigators discovered approximately 500 grams of cannabis, an amount of amphetamine, a grinder, money, and other items of evidence. The Prahova Tribunal ordered the two men to be held in preventive custody for 30 days. The operation was supported by police officers from Dâmbovița and gendarmes from Ploiești.
