On May 1st, road traffic on the Giurgiu - Ruse bridge is alternating on one lane, with a queue of about 4 km in the direction of exit from Romania. The estimated transit time is 45-60 minutes to Bulgaria and 10 minutes in the opposite direction. The Traffic Flow Management Plan has been activated to manage the situation and police crews are directing traffic. A cross-border cycle march has also necessitated a temporary traffic halt. Drivers are advised to check traffic conditions and use alternative routes if possible.
