In a meeting with the mayors of communes, the Minister of Development, Cseke Attila, highlighted the budgetary challenges for the 'Anghel Saligny' program, especially for the year 2026. He mentioned that he hopes the budgetary issues will be resolved in a few weeks, once the state budget law is finalized. Cseke emphasized the difficulties encountered in 2025, when the ministry started with a debt of 6.7 billion lei for unpaid invoices, but managed to pay 4 billion lei more than the previous year.

He also announced that the platform for 'Anghel Saligny' will be opened on March 2, allowing the submission of invoices for works carried out in 2025 or in the current year. The program is expected to run until 2028, and the financing contracts are essential for the completion of projects. Cseke mentioned that the 20% co-financing is optional for administrative-territorial units that can afford it, which will influence the prioritization of funding.
