Development Minister Alexandru Stoica announced that nearly 1.1 billion lei was allocated at the budget adjustment approved by the Government on Friday to pay outstanding invoices to companies that carried out works through the Anghel Saligny National Investment Program. The funds are expected to reach the contractors who carried out and completed the projects quickly.
According to the minister, the total value of the arrears amounts to approximately 2.3 billion lei. The other half, estimated at 1.2 billion lei, is expected to be allocated at the budget adjustment scheduled for November.
Of the amount approved on Friday, more than 680 million lei comes from the reallocation of funds in the budget of the Ministry of Development. The rest of the money was obtained by unblocking the 10% fund withheld by the Ministry of Finance from each ministry.
Alexandru Stoica said the payment represents support for local companies, which have been waiting for several months to be reimbursed for the works. The minister also announced that payments for projects funded through the NRRP would be accelerated. More than 250 million lei was paid to beneficiaries this week, and the pace is expected to be maintained to resolve outstanding payment requests.
