Before the vote on “Anghel Saligny,” the Chamber of Deputies also adopted other initiatives concerning the postponement of deadlines and legislative adjustments. These included extending the admission process to high school and the national assessment organized at the end of eighth grade, a measure applying to the generation that began fifth grade in the 2025–2026 school year.
At the same time, the Chamber of Deputies approved extending the reduced 9% VAT rate for the purchase of homes until October 1, 2026, under conditions established by law, and the bill was voted on in its capacity as the decision-making chamber. Meanwhile, the discussions were influenced by administrative blockages arising in the context of a cyberattack on ANCPI.
On the legislative front, the Senate also approved a bill on the operational and financial closure of the NRRP, which was necessary because the implementation period ends on August 31, 2026. In addition, Parliament was convened in an extraordinary session to adopt the bills necessary to meet the milestones under the NRRP, thereby maintaining a legislative pace focused on deadlines and implementation mechanisms.
