Cristian Tudor Popescu has launched criticisms against Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu, accusing her of using a manipulative argument in the discussion about the special pensions of magistrates. In a message published on Facebook, he emphasized that invoking the suffering of children to support an idea is not a correct approach and compared this tactic to the methods of extremist demagogues. Popescu also mentioned the tensions between Oana Gheorghiu and the co-founder of the 'Dăruiește Viață' association, Carmen Uscatu, who have started to communicate through attacks in the press. Additionally, he expressed hope that these conflicts will not affect the organization's activities.

Furthermore, the Superior Council of Magistracy criticized Oana Gheorghiu's statements, accusing her of attacking the independence of the judiciary. Gheorghiu responded that her status as a member of the association is not incompatible with her governmental position, but Uscatu insisted on a possible incompatibility. This situation has raised questions from international sponsors regarding conflicts of interest.
