The queue of cars at the Giurgiu-Ruse crossing stretches for several kilometers, with drivers waiting for up to three hours due to rehabilitation works on the Bulgarian side of the bridge. Traffic is on one lane, which has led to significant congestion. The work, which started in July 2024 and is estimated to take two years, is seriously affecting the flow out of the country. Drivers are advised to opt for alternative routes or be patient.
