President Nicușor Dan expressed, on Tuesday, his deep sadness after the death of Romanian worker Octav Stroici, who was trapped under the rubble of the medieval tower in Rome. He conveyed his condolences to the family and loved ones, wishing them comfort in these difficult times. Additionally, Dan emphasized his thoughts for all Romanians working far from home, acknowledging their sacrifices and dedication. The president praised the impressive efforts of the Italian rescue teams, who worked for over 11 hours to save Stroici's life. The worker, originally from Suceava, was performing conservation work at Torre dei Conti, an abandoned building, when the accident occurred. His heart stopped in the ambulance, and the doctors were unable to save him. His wife watched the rescue efforts alongside the Romanian ambassador in Rome.
