Chief Superintendent Toma Tecar is suspected of collecting dozens of bribes in just one week, accumulating about 8,700 lei from 87 material acts. Investigators found that he and other police officers favored intermediaries who brought in registration files, ignoring official appointments and receiving between 40 and 60 lei per file. They earned considerable daily earnings from bribes, exceeding their salary.
