The Bucharest Tribunal rejected on Wednesday, as unfounded, the appeal filed by Călin Georgescu against the seizure imposed by prosecutors on his villa in Mogoșoaia. The decision is final, and the former presidential candidate must pay 400 lei in legal expenses to the state.

The seizure was imposed by DIICOT in order to recover the €1.1 million in damages attributed to Georgescu in the case in which he is accused of having deceived a businessman, with prosecutors subsequently extending the measure to certain bank accounts.
