Upon his arrival, Georgescu made statements about the state of the country, claiming that Romania is in a dictatorship and that a new republic is needed. His fans, nearly 200 in number, applauded him and shouted slogans of support. Călin Georgescu will find out at the end of October whether the measure of judicial control will be extended or if he will be sent to trial.
