The Capital City Hall has announced the arrangement of 122 charging stations for electric buses in the depots of Bujoreni, Berceni, and Bucureștii Noi, an investment of 96 million lei, funded from the local budget. At the proposal of the general mayor Ciprian Ciucu, the general councilors adopted three draft resolutions for updating the technical-economic indicators necessary for the construction of the stations and adapting the depots for the operation of the electric bus fleet.
By the end of 2023, 100 electric buses have already been purchased through a contract funded by European funds, attracting 60 million euros in non-repayable funds. Of the 122 stations, 55 will be built at the Berceni Depot, 52 at the Bujoreni Depot, and 15 at the Bucureștii Noi Depot. Local authorities emphasize the importance of completing the necessary infrastructure to avoid losing the allocated European funds.
