The capricious weather and the overloading of the network have caused major damage in Alba County, leaving thousands of people in the dark even on New Year's Eve. The intervention teams of the energy distributor are on high alert to fix the issues before midnight.
The most affected areas are the localities in the Apuseni Mountains, where snowfall and strong winds have knocked down trees onto high voltage lines. According to initial information provided by the authorities, several medium voltage lines are partially or completely without power, affecting consumers in the Abrud area, Câmpeni, and surrounding villages.
Representatives of the electricity distribution company have reported that technical teams are already on the ground and are working under difficult conditions to restore power to the lines. "Superhuman efforts are being made to ensure that people do not enter the new year in darkness," local sources stated.
