The Brașov City Hall has set up a water cannon next to the Council House to cool off passersby.

The Brașov City Hall has implemented a unique initiative to combat the heat by installing a water cannon in the pedestrian area next to the Council House. This installation produces a curtain of water that cools passersby between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM, when temperatures are at their highest.

The spokesperson for the City Hall, Sorin Toarcea, emphasized that the cannon does not produce snow, but a curtain of water meant to provide a moment of respite for locals and tourists. This measure comes in the context of the heatwave affecting the country, offering an alternative to other solutions used in other cities, such as misting systems or fountains. Through this initiative, the local administration also aims to improve comfort on hot days.
