The Bosch factory in Cluj, part of the Mobility Electronics division, will eliminate 170 jobs by the end of 2025, according to the company's official announcement.
This decision comes in the context of a weakened global economy and a stagnant automotive market, which affects Bosch's business development.
The company emphasized that it is facing increased competition and a decline in vehicle production, which has necessitated structural adjustments. Bosch confirmed that it will communicate transparently with employees and will implement social measures, including compensation packages.
Despite the difficulties, Bosch recently invested 246 million lei in Romania and reported a 2.6% increase in sales in 2024, but the number of employees has decreased by 1.9%. This restructuring comes against the backdrop of a broader trend in the industry, where other companies, such as ZF, have also announced staff reductions.
