The commissioners of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted inspections at over 1300 economic operators, discovering multiple irregularities. These include expired food products, unsafe meat preparations, and the lack of information about storage conditions.
As a result of these actions, ANPC imposed 877 fines totaling over 4.54 million lei and permanently removed non-compliant products worth over 171,000 lei from sale. The activity of 14 operators was temporarily suspended until the deficiencies are remedied. Among the identified non-compliances are the lack of operating licenses, incorrect information provided to consumers, and the absence of translations in Romanian.
