The inspectors of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted nationwide checks between June 23 and 25, sanctioning economic operators who were selling animal origin products.
Following the inspections, 263 fines were imposed, totaling over one million lei. Additionally, 155 warnings were issued, and the definitive withdrawal from sale of non-compliant products, estimated at over 118,000 lei, was ordered. The sale of certain products was temporarily suspended, and the activity of two economic operators was halted until the deficiencies were remedied.
Among the frequent irregularities identified are misleading consumers regarding the origin of products, non-compliance with storage conditions, lack of identification elements, as well as non-compliant packaging. ANPC continues to monitor the market to protect consumer rights.
