Traffic on the Friendship Bridge will take place on a single lane starting May 1.

During the mini-holiday of May 1st, traffic on the Friendship Bridge Giurgiu - Ruse will be restricted, operating on a single lane, alternately, due to ongoing works on the Bulgarian side. Livia Filimon, the spokesperson for ITPF Giurgiu, warned that waiting times could be longer than usual, considering the heavy traffic. To avoid congestion, authorities recommend that drivers plan their routes efficiently and consider alternative routes through other border crossing points, such as Calafat, Bechet, or Vama Veche.

Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed about the 2 euro fee for crossing the bridge, which can be paid both in cash and online. It is important for drivers to hold a valid vignette for the roads in Bulgaria, available online.
