Statistics from the Suceava Police show an increase in road accidents involving cyclists, with 93 incidents recorded in the first six months of the year. One accident resulted in the death of a person, while four others were seriously injured. Many of these accidents were caused by cyclists who were under the influence of alcohol, with recent examples of cyclists having blood alcohol levels of 1.85 mg/l and 1.13 mg/l. The police emphasize the prohibition of riding a bicycle under the influence of alcohol or prohibited substances.
