Adrian Pintea, former state secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, and Romeo Șoldea, the general director of the National Phytosanitary Authority, have been sent to trial by the DNA for instigation to abuse of office and abuse of office, while free.
The case has been forwarded to the Bucharest Tribunal, and prosecutors have imposed a seizure on the assets owned by the two, up to the amount of 148,542 lei. Adrian Pintea allegedly persuaded Șoldea to transfer an acquaintance of his from the Chamber of Deputies to the ANF, violating the legislation that requires the publication of a notice 30 days prior to the transfer. Subsequently, the person was moved to the Botoșani County Phytosanitary Office, without having the necessary qualifications for the public position held.
The damage caused to the MADR budget is estimated at 148,542 lei, representing the salaries received by the respective person during the mentioned period.
