Adrian Lesenciuc, doctor in military sciences and professor at the 'Henri Coandă' Air Force Academy, appreciates that Russia's informational war against Romania began to intensify after 2000, when Vladimir Putin became president. Lesenciuc emphasizes that Romania has been perceived as an adversary by Russia, especially after its integration into NATO in 2004 and its pro-Western orientation.

He also mentions that, since 2020, Romania and Moldova have become direct targets of Russian actions. Lesenciuc criticizes the rejection of Romania's national defense strategy, which could have strengthened national security, maintaining in force a previous strategy that advocated for cooperation with Russia. This analysis highlights the importance of awareness of hybrid threats and the need for an adequate response from Romania.
