Work to complete Lot 3 Afumați–Pantelimon, part of the Bucharest Ring Road A0 North, is continuing, with the contractor’s teams installing safety guardrails in several areas of the construction site. The interventions are necessary to prepare the section for the opening to traffic and to improve the safety of road users.
The National Road Infrastructure Administration Company states that the work is being carried out on site, but has not announced an exact inauguration date. The lot, built by the Chinese company CCECC, was approximately 98.35% physically complete in October 2026.
The Afumați–Pantelimon section is 8.6 kilometers long and connects DN2, in the Afumați area, with DN3, toward Cernica and Pantelimon. The contract is worth approximately 398 million lei, excluding VAT.
The opening to traffic was initially announced for October 26, along the route between Afumați, Pantelimon and the connection with the A2 Motorway, toward Constanța. CNAIR stated, however, that work still remained to be completed. Subsequently, the Ilfov County Council said that the two sections, with a combined length of nearly 13 kilometers, were expected to open by the end of the year.
