The Ministry of Labor has announced a proposal for financial aid for pensioners with pensions lower than 3,000 lei, amounting to up to 1,000 lei, distributed in two installments, in April and December 2026. This measure targets approximately 2.8 million pensioners who have felt the impact of the increase in VAT and inflation.

According to the plan, pensioners with pensions between 2,001 and 3,000 lei will receive 600 lei, those with pensions between 1,501 and 2,000 lei will benefit from 800 lei, and pensioners with pensions below 1,500 lei will receive 1,000 lei. Minister Florin Manole emphasized the importance of support for the most vulnerable pensioners.
