Minister of Labour Florin Manole announced that funds are available for the payment of pensions and the one-off financial benefits scheduled for December 2026. The statement was made after the publication of the draft first budget revision of this year, through which the Government seeks to cover urgent obligations until the end of the year.

“The money is secured, and all payments will be made in full and on time,” the minister wrote on Facebook in a message addressed to pensioners. Florin Manole said he wanted to eliminate ambiguity and speculation regarding their incomes, stressing that their entitlements are protected.

The draft published by the Ministry of Finance provides for a net increase of 3.32 billion lei in the budget of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity. Separately, transfers from the state budget to the state social insurance budget will increase by 3.47 billion lei to balance the pension budget and cover expenses until the end of the year.

The budget revision also includes funds for medicines, medical services, salary entitlements, social assistance, interest and outstanding payments. The Ministry of Finance states that the additional allocations come from savings identified in budget execution and that no new spending without funding sources is planned. The allocations for the Ministry of Labour and the transfers for the pension budget are separate and do not represent a single sum intended exclusively for pensioners.
