The auction is part of the enforcement procedure initiated by ANAF for the recovery of damages established by a criminal ruling. The central piece, 'Corridor Scene' by Picasso, is his first original work to be auctioned in Romania, with a starting price of 8,000 euros. Also included are works signed by Victor Brauner and two canvases by Grigorescu, with starting prices of 40,000 and 50,000 euros. The auction will take place on February 17 at the Cesianu-Racoviță Palace in Bucharest, and the public can participate both physically and online. Darius Vâlcov was sentenced to 6 years in prison for influence peddling and money laundering, and the confiscated works were purchased with money derived from crimes.
