The painting “Portrait of a Lady,” confiscated by the Nazis from the collection of Dutch Jewish art dealer Jacques Goudstikker, will be returned to his heir, Maril von Saher. The work was discovered in 2025 in a home in the Argentine resort city of Mar del Plata. Patricia Kadgien, the daughter of a former financier of the Nazi SS organization, and her husband relinquished any claim to the painting to avoid trial. They will be subject to judicial supervision for two years. Valued at approximately 290,000 dollars, the work was initially attributed to Giuseppe Vittore Ghislandi, but Argentine experts determined that it was by the painter Giacomo Antonio Ceruti.
