A Leica M-A photo camera, gifted to Pope Francis in 2024, was sold at an auction held on Saturday in Vienna for the sum of 6.5 million euros. This amount will be donated for charitable purposes, according to the wishes expressed by the pontiff, who passed away in April. The white camera, symbolizing papal vestments, includes engravings such as the pope's motto 'Miserando atque Eligendo' and the Vatican coat of arms. The Leica M-A model, along with the Leica Noctilux-M 1:1.2/50mm lens, bears the serial number 5,000,000, highlighting the uniqueness of this analog camera.
