Pope Leo XIV began the period of rest at Castel Gandolfo, near Rome

The Vatican has announced that all audiences will be suspended during this period. Additionally, the Pope has decided to move to the Apostolic Palace, a choice motivated by security and the need to maintain the functioning of the Vatican's infrastructure.

Unlike his predecessor, Pope Francis, who transformed the Apostolic Palace into a museum, Pope Leo XIV opted for a longer vacation at Castel Gandolfo, where he also spent last summer. Recently, he marked the U.S. Independence Day on the island of Lampedusa, honoring the memory of migrants who died in search of a better life in Europe. This vacation underscores his commitment to global issues and his desire to learn and adapt in his role as a leader.
