At the 'Intelligent Romania' conference, Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan emphasized that Romania is facing serious problems in the energy sector, paying the highest electricity prices in Europe, despite the available resources. He underlined that poor management and reduced domestic production capacities have led to increased dependence on expensive imports. Ivan announced that he would present these systemic problems and proposed solutions to the Supreme Council for National Defense, stressing that the situation is a matter of national security.
