Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced on Instagram that Zinedine Zidane has signed a contract with the French Football Federation (FFF) to become the head coach of the French national team, valid until the middle of 2030. Zidane, at 54 years old, has long been considered the successor to Didier Deschamps, who led the team to win the World Cup in 2018 and parted ways with the national team after this summer's tournament, where France finished in fourth place.
Although L'Equipe reported on his appointment, FFF has not officially confirmed the information until now. Zidane has a successful coaching career at Real Madrid, where he won three Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles, and as a player, he won major trophies, including the 1998 World Cup and EURO 2000. His last match as a professional was the 2006 World Cup final, lost to Italy.
